ATTERRAGE Gallery presents Francesco Gioacchini in a solo exhibition delving into the concept of cancellation as an aesthetic practice; Prove di cancellazione, from February 19 to March 31, 2026. The selected artworks (mostly unpublished) evoke the artist’s reflections around the mechanism of negation of the artistic subject, its formal elimination, and potential overlapping; between 2023 and 2026 Gioacchini produced various paintings, works on paper, and installations to deeply explore this topic. Each Artwork of the Series comes to an end only when the artist marks it with a "final gesture," a conclusive action which inevitably anticipates its own destruction; it is the case of a still life painting overlapped by the spray, of a structured composition crossed out by a X, of a marker stroke over sentences. Gioacchini’s work celebrates the balance between making and unmaking, remitting to the artworks derealization the solution to their temporary essence.
